Welcome To The Old Castle

For locals and visitors to Bridgnorth, the Old Castle Pub Bridgnorth provides a great place for real ale and traditional home cooked food.

“The Finest View of My Kingdom” – well that’s how Charles I described Bridgnorth in the 17th Century – that’s just how the town remains today.

Old Castle Pub is in Bridgnorth High Town, on the edge of the cliff just below the ruins of Bridgnorth Castle.

This historic traditional English pub in Bridgnorth offers a choice of real ales – and has again been awarded the Cask Marque – excellence in the service of cask ales.

We offer a good traditional pub menu of home cooked food served daily and a Sunday Carvery.

Good Food & Sunday Lunch

The Old Castle has built it’s reputation on traditional freshly cooked GOOD FOOD. Whether you want a pub lunch or evening meal we guarantee you won’t be disappointed. We have seasonal menus with something for everyone’s palette, and our Sunday Lunch is renowned in Bridgnorth. Always checkout our SPECIALS BOARD !!

We are NOT a Fast Food pub, so all our orders are prepared and cooked to order. So there may be a delay at busy periods, but be patient it’s worth the wait.

We always advise you book, as seriously we do get very busy, especially on Sundays.

A Family Pub With Real Ales

Our historic traditional English 18th century inn in Bridgnorth offers a good choice of real ales.

We are featured once more in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2023

We are also proud that we have been awarded the coverted CASK MARQUE – the authority on real ale pubs.

We have random checks by the cask marque team twice a year to ensure that we provide a perfect pint each and every time.

Large Beer Garden With Covered Seating Area

We are extremely proud of our Bridgnorth beer garden with large covered and open air seating areas. It is family friendly and a sun trap for those barmy sunny days, as the sun sets you will see why it is such a popular haunt on warm evenings.
